Torrance experience with gas logs
Torrance's post-war tract homes were built with masonry fireboxes in the 1950s and 60s, old enough now that crown and mortar condition should be checked on a schedule rather than waited out. A cracked crown here is as much a fire-season concern as a moisture one, since gaps in the masonry give sparks a path along with rain. We've worked on most every kind of chimney found in this area, from single-flue brick stacks to homes running more than one fireplace system, and we plan the visit around what's actually on the roof.
